Idejni projekt
Sađenje vrta nije racionalan čin.
Margaret Atwood

Conceptual design
Gardening is not a rational act.
Margaret Atwood
Out of the need for an oasis in midst of a busy city landscape, an idea of a meditative pop-up-like exhibition that invites one to relax and immerse oneself into an unusual world was born.
Exhibition The Garden of Pepper and Rose is the second project of it's kind by the two authors, after the exhibition of thoughts Showcase under Construction (Jelsa Municipal Museum, summer 2021), which was a step in a new direction at a time when a piece of paper became too limiting.
Pepper and Rose have been chosen to represent two extremes, strength and gentility, the spicy and the sweet, male and female worlds which complete one another but also counter each other.
The author duo, which goes back to the first school days, collaborates on various projects as authors of text (Gott) and illustrations (Mack). The two have combined their individual skills into a unique language, thus creating Showcase under Construction as well as The Garden of Pepper and Rose.
To paraphrase Margaret Atwood: Art, much like gardening is not a rational act, but rather a necessity.
